Program Description:

Sunburst Projects is a U.S. non-governmental organization that has been working with children living with HIV/AIDS since 1988. 

In 2010, Sunburst Projects and FACES began a collaboration to bring social and psychological support to the many children living with HIV who are being served by the FACES Clinics. 

The program is designed to train young adults in the community to become Peer Leaders and run support groups and other activities. 

Due to its continued growth, the program is seeking to recruit a motivated, pro-active individual to fill the following vacancy:

 Project Coordinator

Location: Kisumu Districts

Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma holder in; nursing, Counseling, Social work, community Health and development or any of the science discipline
  • Must be ICT proficient in Email, Word, excel and Skype
  • Must be experienced in project management monitoring and evaluation.
  • At least two years relevant work experience with children and adolescent and support groups.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, team player and have visionary leadership.
  • Possess a desire to work compassionately with youth.
  • Proficient in English, Swahili, and other language.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage project resources and ensure that all the sunburst activities are on course
  • Preparation of budgets for the project and review of expenditure and submission of timely reports.
  • Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate project activities including writing technical reports for internal and external consumption.
  • Provide counseling services to children, adolescents, guardians and peer leaders.
  • Provide overall leadership through coordination, Support supervision to the districts and to the peer leaders across the district as they implement project activities
  • Develop and promote partnership and networking with relevant stakeholders, government institutions and ministries
  • Ensure project integration and growth to the larger program and ministry of health goal
  • Facilitate capacity building activities for the project implementation team and other stakeholders.
  • Work with program staff to document and disseminate best practices and lessons learnt.
  • Communicate regularly with Sunburst Projects staff in the United States via email and Skype.
