Marist International University College (MIUC) is a Constituent College of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA). We are located in Karen, Nairobi. We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following vacancy available in our College.

Librarian

Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Academic), the successful candidate will be in charge of the overall operations at the MIUC Library. 

These include: 
  • Safe guarding and maintaining the Library inventory; 
  • Examining content of reference materials to assist patrons in locating and selecting materials; 
  • Reviewing publishers' announcements and catalogs; 
  • Conducting information searches from electronic databases; 
  • Training, supervising and appraising MIUC Library staff, among other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Masters degree in Information Science or Library Studies or its equivalent training from a recognized university.
  • Should have served for at least 3 years as Librarian in an institution of higher learning, or similar environment.
  • Should be knowledgeable of computer skills including the ability to operate computerized library systems.
  • Should have knowledge of current and evolving library technology, among other relevant knowledge.
Essential Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and attention to detail
  • Must have research, analytical and problem solving skills
