Position: Data Analyst

Deloitte is implementing a supply chain strengthening program in Kenya that involves enhancing the capture and use of performance monitoring data.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to help in strengthening the capture and use of data.

The Data Analyst based in Nairobi, Kenya will serve as a team member responsible for data collection, management and analysis for a medical supplies agency.

The Data Analyst’s role includes collecting, cleaning, transforming, validating and analyzing data with the purpose of providing evidence for decision and management purposes.

The role also includes presenting the data in charts, graphs or tables, designing and developing databases or building and designing data input or data collection forms.

This project is fast-paced, dynamic and demanding.

Candidates should be able to perform under pressure and be proactive.

Key duties include:
  • Data collection and analysis using Microsoft Excel and possibly Microsoft Access
  • Enhancements to or development of data collection tools in Excel or Access
  • Analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Compilation of data reports
  • Data management including the design of data input screens
  • Data verification and validation
  • Explanation of report calculations and maintenance of data snapshots for future reference
Required qualifications include:
  • Proven ability to compile and analyze data using Excel
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis
  • Strong analytic skills
  • Experience in developing data collection, analysis and reporting tools and standard operating procedures
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and accounting software is desirable
  • Candidate must be proactive and be able to seek information, evaluate processes, provide concise recommendations and implement solutions in a fast-paced setting without significant oversight
  • Strong experience in technical writing and communication is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation or performance management systems is preferred
