The Riara Group of Schools is a large, well-established private
school with several campuses in Nairobi and seeks highly qualified and
experienced individual to fill the position of a Senior Estate Officer.
Summary of key duties:
- Give
professional advice to the management on matters relating to building and
constructions.
- On
a daily basis, ensure that all repairs and maintenance work on the
buildings, furniture, fixtures and fittings is carried out in a timely and
cost effective manner; ensure that the school compound is clean, lawns and
flower gardens are well kept
- Coordinate
various school events in terms of venue arrangements and ensure required
supplies are received on time.
- Ensure
that all the estate workers are adequately supervised and utilized
optimally, ensure that casual employees are recruited and retained on a
need basis only as per the Human Resources casual/contract staff
recruitment policy.
- Ensure
workers operate in a healthy and safe working environment, ensure all
fire-fighting equipments are in good working order and maintained as per
the maintenance contract.
- Supervise
new projects and work in progress and give daily progress reports to
Director.
The person will:
- Be
30 years and above;
- A
holder of a Degree in Land economics or its equivalent from a recognized
university/institution;
- Be
a team player with strong supervisory skills and ability to work with
minimal supervision;
- Be
computer literate with over three years experience at management level in
property development and management firm;
- Be
responsible for ensuring that the school’s estate and day-to-day
maintenance requirements are met to the expectations.
- Have
hands-on experience in property and material assessment, construction,
repair and maintenance of buildings.
