Health Team Leader
Job Summary
Under the IMC Emergency Health and Nutrition Project in Kambioos Camp in the larger Dadaab Refugee Complex, the Health Team Leader will be under the Direct Supervision of the Head of Sub-Office/Medical Coordinator.
He/she will be responsible for managing the day to day
activities of the health and nutrition program.
Duties and responsibilites
- Ensure
the implementation of the program according to humanitarian standards and
donor requirements.
- Coordinate
the work of the different departments in health and nutrition.
- Represent
IMC in regular meetings and as may be determined from time to time by the
Project Coordinator.
- Participates
in assessments as well as proposal writing.
- Train
the Health and Nutrition staff according to accepted standards.
- Overall
in charge of treatment protocols and quality of services particularly
consultations
- Responsible
for patients consultations
- Focal
person in clinical management collaborates with the District in control
and prevention of epidemic prone communicable diseases such as Malaria and
others.
- Provide
direct patient care in diagnostic and treatment in emergency primary
healthcare
- Take
an active role in public health surveillance during situations of
communicable diseases outbreak
- Ensure
on going services supply of drugs and consumables according to protocols
prescribed by the Ministry of Health
- Strengthen
referral services between communities, primary and secondary health
facilities to promote primary health care and utilization of the services
- Attend
Health Coordination meetings, community meetings for women groups,
community leaders and village health workers to promote more community
participation as assigned
Qualifications
- Medical
Doctor registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
- Minimum
of 3 years experience as a Medical Doctor managing Primary Health Care
programs in resource poor settings.
- Must
be computer literate and comfortable to use MS Word, Excel and Access.
- Demonstrated
proposal skills in project planning and management.
- Experience
in Refugee Camp settings will be an added advantage.
- Must
be skilled in performing emergency surgical and obstetrics procedures.
- Knowledge
of Health Information System.
- Fluency
in English and Kiswahili mandatory. Due to the nature and place of work,
ability to speak in Somali is required.
Project Officer
Job summary
- In
consultation with the Head of Sub-Office/Medical Coordinator, provide
phasing and scheduling of projects.
- Assist
with documentation of best practices including writing/editing short
articles, press releases and other materials.
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare
procurement requests for goods/services needed for program implementation.
- Assist
in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports by ensuring that all
needed information are collected and available for reporting.
- Assist
with human resource issues related to the program.
- Review
activities for compliance with IMC policies and procedures.
- Prepare
work plan to ensure that program activities are done in a timely manner.
- Interface
with beneficiaries and other stakeholders on project issues.
- Participate
in the development and issuance of project procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- A
bachelor’s degree in management or related field.
- Minimum
of 3 years experience in a related capacity working with an NGO,
experience in refugee camp settings will be an added advantage.
- Must
be skilled in the use of computer programs i.e MS Word, Excel and Access.
- Demonstrated
capacity on monitoring, planning and implementing project activities.
- Knowledge
of Health Information System.
- Fluency
in English. Due to the nature and place of the work, ability to speak in
Somali is an advantage.
Finance Assistant
Position description/scope of work
- Responsible
for making payments in the office. Make sure that backup documentation for
disbursements is duly approved and on file prior to making payments.
- Assist
Finance officer in preparation of year end audit schedules for IMC Kenya.
- Prepare
and send Daily Cash Reports to Nairobi that includes both cash and bank
balances.
- Prepare
monthly reports including input into ACCPAC and sending monthly batches to
Nairobi by the last day of the month.
- Assist
Finance Officer with finance information related to asset and inventory
list.
- Other
relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor/College
degree in the field of Finance/Accounting and/or CPA part
- 1
one year experience in accounting/finance experience in an International
NGO would be an advantage.
