The Kenya Society for
the Blind (KSB) is a charitable
organization charged with the overall goal of bringing eye care services to
those threatened with blindness and provide education and rehabilitation to
persons with visual impairment in Kenya.
KSB is seeking to hire a Project Coordinator to develop and manage the Trachoma Control Project in Marsabit
Project Cordinator
The position reports to the Director KSB.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage
all aspects of project management including budget preparation and
oversight planning, project implementation, monitoring, evaluation and
reporting requirements for the Program
- Promote
partnerships and networking with relevant stakeholders, including
government of Kenya Ministries, NGOs/ CSOs and the community
- Promote
project integration and contribute to project development and growth
Key requirements:
- Skills
in project management. particularly in program design, implementation
monitoring and evaluation;
- Hands
on experience in the health promotion field and specifically Primary eye
care/SAFE strategy
- Capacity
to build collaborative relationships and partnerships;
- Demonstrated
ability in community mobilization and participatory methodologies.
- Ability
to produce quality program reports;
- Fluency
in written and spoken English;
- Demonstrated
ability to work independently;
- Ability
to travel hard to reach areas.
Qualifications:
- Higher
diploma in Clinical Ophthalmology or Public Health
- At
least 3 -5 years working experience in a community based program or
Ophthalmic Clinical and safe strategy experience.
