Procurement Officer
Reporting to: Procurement Manager
Our client, ICT firm dealing with computer, phones, Software and other products in East Africa is seeking to fill Procurement Officers position.
The office holder will be expected to develop and implement purchasing policies and strategies while maximizing savings and benefits available to the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Sourcing for items from suppliers at the best prices and raising LPOs.
·         Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and distributors.
·         Review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new products.
·         Liaise with accounts department and review purchase requests to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.
·         Arrange for disposal of surplus materials.
·         Maintain records of goods ordered and goods received.
·         Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for items out of stock in a timely manner.
·         Manage warranty issues with suppliers.
·         Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future stock availability.
·         Develop and implement purchasing management instructions, policies, and procedures.
·         Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
·         Inform Sales and Marketing & Web and Graphics departments on stock status to facilitate sell out.
·         Any other duties as assigned by the management
Requirements:
·         Bachelors degree in Purchasing and Supplies
·         At least 4 years experience in a related position
·         Proficient oral and written English
·         Computer literate with knowledge in Pastel
·         Attention to detail and ability to effectively and efficiently perform multiple tasks and balance competing priorities often within a required timeframe
·         Ability to communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, and clients
·         Ability to respond and adapt quickly to changing requirements and competing demands
·         Professional and mature demeanor and conduct, especially during interactions with the client and its constituents
·         High level of confidentiality and team spirit
·         Preferably male
·         Age between 28-35 years
