I.T. Manager
The suitable candidate will be reporting to the Country Manager and will be accountable for delivering
IT services to the Kenya office and Business Units in the country, customer satisfaction with IT and
providing strong leadership to the country IT teams
Key Responsibilities
- Act as
a key member of the Kenya management team, setting country directions and
strategies.
- Implementation
of the IT Strategy and Planning Domain projects at a country level.
- Contribute
to improving business P&L through effective management of IT services
and solutions.
- Management
of the IT Budget and creation of business cases for required investments.
- Contribute
to the convergence of local applications to the strategic product
portfolio.
- Ensure
that IT activities are aligned with each of the business unit’s goals and
priorities.
- Establish
regular reviews with business leaders – raising the visibility and value
of IT and ensuring full transparency of IT effort and costs.
- Ensuring
Business issues are actioned and resolved within agreed timelines.
- Contribute
to Kenya IBP formulation and Targets.
- Create
strong relationships at Sub-Regional/ Regional / Global level within the
IT community to ensure maximum leverage of resources / solutions to
support local requirements.
- Ownership
for development and delivery of the country IT budget
- Implement
regional and Global initiatives at a country level.
- Ensure
implementation of divisional standards e.g. Depict, ITIL.
- Implement
Key IT Processes at a country level.
- Ensure
IT alignment with First Choice at a country level.
- Develop
and maintain a motivated IT Team of competent managers and staff
- Ongoing
assessment of the skills and competency’s within the IT Team – ensuring
training and development plans are in place to address any gaps / needs.

– ensure effective communication structure in place i.e. weekly / monthly
team meetings.

Process Engineering in Logistics/supply chain environment
- Major
IT project delivery
- IT
solutions design, proposals and costings
- IT
Project delivery methodologies (Prince2)
- IT
Budget control
- Delivery
of major client projects (Applications/Infrastructure)

Customer Account Management - Multi-client environments
- Multi-project
Portfolio/Program Management
- Logistics/Supply
Chain Management solutions (Transport Management solutions/ Warehouse
Management solutions/ Visibility solutions, Activity Based Costings, EIS,
etc)
- Good
understanding of Support function systems (HR, Business Development, etc)
Education
- University
Bachelor degree in a Business discipline or relevant education and work
experience preferably in Forwarding /Logistic sector
- Fluent
in English (verbal and written)
