Our client FARM-Africa wishes to fill the following positions urgently.

Programme Operations Manager (POM)

Job Profile

1. Develop, implement and measure the impact of FARM-Africa’s Organizational Strategy and Kenya Country Programme Strategy
  • Working with the Country Director, oversee the development, coordination and delivery of agreed programme interventions and strategies based on FARM-Africa’s 2012 - 2015 organisational strategy.
  • Key role ¡n developing country programme strategic plans both organizational and programmatic.
  • Working with the CD, develop new opportunities for FARM-Africa to assist our core communities - farmers, herders and forest communities - through supporting the planning and development of new FARM-Africa initiatives. This will include preparing proposals for submission to donors, ¡n close collaboration with other country programmes and relevant departments in London (especially the Head of Programme Funding).
2. Ensure operational excellence in execution of existing programmes.

3. Lead the recruitment, retention and development of project teams that has the capacity to deliver the organization’s strategic objectives. .

4. Ensure proper financial management and reporting of all elements of the Kenya programme in accordance with FARM-Africa financial policies and procedures and donor contracts.

5. Strengthen relationships with partner organizations, including donors, government, the private sector and other NGOs to achieve the strategic outcomes of the organisation.

Person Profile
  • At least 3 years senior management experience, ideally with a developmental NGO.
  • A minimum of 5 years project management experience in Kenya and / or another African Country
  • A University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, preferably with postgraduate qualification.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
  • Programme experience relating to agricultural and environmental natural resource management and sustainable livelihoods and small economic activity development.
  • Experience of donor budget formulation, management and monitoring.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator

Job Profile
  • Coordinate and facilitate the development of project level participatory M&E systems and plans and be responsible for providing technical guidance and leadership for project and programme monitoring and evaluation.
  • Through needs analysis and training ensure all major projects have the necessary set of skills to be able to implement the M&E systems and closely work with project M&E Officers ¡n order to ensure that training ¡s efficiently organized and learning can be communicated widely.
  • Ensure the requirements of the FAME, Organisational KPIs, PPA1 and other needs are fully integrated into project data collection systems and plans so that the necessary data collection and analysis is happening on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient communication between and among the country programmes and London on overall M&E development and coordinate and cascade any learning that ¡s invaluable for enhancing M&E actions at Country Office and Project level.
  • Provide quality control function for new proposal log frames, ensuring that proposed measures are SMART, and that OVIs will provide data that can easily be aggregated for institution-wide results reporting.
Person Profile
  • BA/BSc Degree ¡n economics, development, management or relevant social science. Masters or higher level qualification ¡n social studies, agriculture, business management, food security or operations management.
  • At least 5 years relevant project and programme monitoring and evaluation experience ¡n an international NGO or similar organisation.
  • Proven track record of developing M&E systems and plans.
  • Experience of training and mentoring staff ¡n data collection, analysis and reporting.
