Regulatory Affairs Manager Job Vacancy.


Our client is a leading global FMCG manufucter of a wide range of products in Healthcare, Hygiene and Homecare categories.The purpose of the role is to develop and oversee the
implementation of the regulatory strategy. The job holder will Work collaboratively with the
relevant Global teams and Country Commercial teams to establish and implement the regulatory
strategies bring competitive advantage to company’s brands. He/she will take lead and undertake
all registration work necessary to meet the needs of the business in the East Africa. This position
reports to the Director of Regulatory and Medical Affairs NAMET (North Africa Middle East &
Turkey) cluster.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Develop and implement regulatory strategies that enable the delivery of a pipeline of
product innovation to meet country requirements.
 Maintain close collaboration with regulatory, medical and quality functional groups in the
business centre to ensure East Africa business operates in line with strategy and that
global strategy takes into account Kenya peculiar requirements.
 Manage all regulatory and development projects relevant to East Africa Healthcare and
House Hold Business.
 Interpret and apply all relevant legislation and regulatory guidelines in East Africa and
keep the local operating company up to date on national regulatory trends, risks and
opportunities for the business.
 Prepare and monitor annual budgets; highlighting any change in spend assumptions.
 Interface and represent company interests with relevant government agencies, industry
associations and/or other organizations for the purpose of lobbying, negotiating
legislation, regulations and/or guidelines.
 Manage Quality Management Systems Audits and track implementation of audit findings
to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
 Provide advice and training on regulatory compliance and registration processes and
requirements to the local business.
 Prepare or oversee training materials for internal training (e.g., for sales, marketing and
customer service personnel) and conduct training sessions on relevant scientific,
regulatory and safety issues.
 
REQUIREMENTS
 Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or BSC in a relevant discipline; Masters will be an added
advantage.
 Five (5) years in Regulatory Affairs (Experience in devices and cosmetics regulations
highly desirable).
 Broad knowledge of regulatory and healthcare systems, ideally within East Africa.
 Experience in handling corporate crisis management and issues resolution.
 Sound performer in interacting with and influencing regulatory authorities and lobbying.
 Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities effectively.
 Pro-active self-direction with a high level of initiative and persistence and a very much
hands on approach to results delivery.
 The ability to effectively manage projects and relationships with local partners,
contractors, and consultants.
 Clear and logical thinker with the ability to recognize patterns and develop innovative
solutions.
