Supervises: Security Manager and Legal Coordinators
Broad Role: To manage all litigation cases against the company, keep custody of important legal documents.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Attend
to disputes between customers and the company
- Advise
management on legal matters relating to business operations and action on
legal cases instituted against the company
- Keep
custody of important legal documents (including contractual documents)
- Provide
company secretarial services to the board, and to the management Committees
of the company
- Attending
Board meetings for the Company and advising on legal requirements
- Draw
procurement contracts
- Ensures
NCWSC procurement contracts comply with set law and regulation including
local and international laws and regulations
- Responsible
for the interpretation water Act as and when the need arises
- Regular
review of contractual agreements to ensure adherence to the terms therein
- Advice
and guide the company on international legal obligations affecting company
- Identifies
regulatory requirements and collaborate with other departmental heads to
ensure enforcement of these requirements ego Licensing and certifications
etc.
- Represent
the company in Court cases involving the company and its authorized
Officers
- Oversee
the operations of security and investigation department to ensure its
strategies, policies and controls are geared towards attainment of the
Company key objectives
- Custodian
of the company seal and be responsible for its use
- Any
other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Managing Director
and the Board.
Education, Professional Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Masters
in Law or other relevant field
- Bachelor
of Laws degree from a reputable University
- Advocate
of the High Court of Kenya
- A
registered CPS (K) member of the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries
of Kenya
- At
least 8 years experience, 5 of which must be at senior management level.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong
management and negotiation skills
- Computer
literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications
- Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability
to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
