NPA has been involved in the complex political emergency in Somalia since 1994;
facilitating provision of humanitarian and development assistance primarily in
Sool and Sanaag Regions (and more recently in Mudug Region) in northern

NPA’s interventions in Somalia comprise a good mix of vital service delivery as a response to the humanitarian emergency situation as well as a number of recovery and development initiatives, which have enabled communities in these regions cope with the humanitarian crisis in the country.
NPA Somalia programme is currently seeking to fill in the following vacant position:
Programme Administrator
Location of Work: Nairobi, Kenya (with 20% travel to project locations in Somalia)
Key responsibilities for this position will include but not limited to:
- Ensuring
both project and personnel files are in order.
- Timely
preparation of payment forms as required.
- Coding
of partners accounting and Las Anod field visit monthly expenses.
- Manage
the Office support Staff at the NPA Nairobi Office.
- Ensure
general cleanliness of the office and office compound.
- Timely
travel booking and confirmation of same.
- Request
for visas for staff members.
- Timely
request of requisition and subsequent purchases.
- Timely
payment of office bills/utilities.
- Timely
purchase of office stationary and kitchen/garden tools.
- Ensuring
constant and regular communication with the field office and partners.
- Assisting
the country Director to maintain regular communication with Donors.
- Managing
kitchen and stationary stores.
- Focal
person for health, group life insurance and other service providers.
- Maintaining
the diary for coordination of Somalia Programme activities.
Qualification and Experience
- Relevant
degree/diploma and/or combination of experience and qualifications.
- Certificate
in administration and/or accounting/book keeping desirable.
- Five
years office management experience in an NGO setting.
- Computer
proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Strong
organizational skills and the capacity to analyse and prioritise needs.
- Capacity
to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong
English communication skills (oral and written).
- Knowledge
of Somali language is desirable.
