It could also be that circumstances at your present job are driving you mad, and you just can't wait for a career change. People in such stages of their career often have the notion that the more jobs they apply for, the better are their chances of success in their job search. But there is a catch: is it worth applying to employers who are not recruiting at the moment? It is a question that haunts many desperate job seekers. 

Interview blunders you should always avoid

In this world everything is about perception and marketers can tell you this very well. I have a brother of my friend who works at KCB as a training manager although he has an MBA in Marketing and he tells me that marketing is about changing or enhancing perception which are focused on influencing the consumption behaviors of our targets. An interview is not different because the perception that you leave behind is very important and thus you should endeavor to market yourself as good as possible.

In this exercise of marketing, it is very easy to find yourself making a few mistakes here and there. The first opportunity you get to create a good impression is the three-second handshake that starts the interview. An ineffective handshake can spoil your image. A limp hand shake can give the impression of disinterest or weakness. Make the handshake short and firm to give out a positive message. We have always advised towards this. Psychologists say that there is more to a person than the physical outlook. Most people don’t know that they are made of more than flesh and the moment you realize that then you become an enigma immediately. To define it in simple terms, an inner person is the voice within, the whisper in everything you do and to Christians it is known as the spirit. This part of the human nature is very influential and determines your future. In other word instinct is very important in anything you do. I suppose you have watched the movie, ‘the secret’ or read the novel. To some sects within our Christian community don’t seem to agree with this theory but you become what you think. The more positive you think, the more positive things turn out for you. Assume that you have been invited for an interview and you are pessimistic or negative about nailing the job, trust me you can’t nail it.

Choosing the right shoes to a job interview

Have you ever heard that ladies asses a man first by the kind of shoes he is wearing? Fact is that a shoe is a very important part of our dressing. I know as a job seeker you may not have much of a choice but if you can afford or spare a few coins, please heed to our advice on this subject matter. Just imagine an interviewer walking in limping because his/ her shoes pinch or if one of the interviewers’ shoes is showing his finger? It will be very uncomfortable for you as an interviewee.
