Purpose of the position:

To lead in the delivery of the Child Health Now campaign at the national level. The Manager will liaise, support, and work closely with colleagues involved on the issue of health and community empowerment nationally.

The campaign manager will coordinate the institutional response of the NO on health before key audiences and decision makers. The manager will leverage World Vision's institutional expertise, nationally and internationally to influence the national government's response on health.

This post will link in with WVI’s Global Health campaign team who ultimately seek to:
  • Lead WVI’s global advocacy;
  • Build WVI as a Global Advocacy Force;
  • Support programme learning and development;
  • Help develop WVI’s policy on what we do and say to ensure policies are informed by our experience. The team’s purpose is to campaign for health for children in poor and marginalized communities with National and Support Offices.
  • In addition this position will play a key role in the team delivering campaigning on children’s health with the WV partnership.
The position will sit in the World Vision Kenya Policy and Advocacy Unit.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience (E=Essential & D – Desirable)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, with at least 5 years experience in campaigning, advocacy, lobbying and communications;
  • Masters Degree added advantage
  • Experience of developing this capacity in other people
  • Strategic, creative, and innovative thinking
  • A successful track record in coordinating / managing advocacy campaigns
Additional Experience:
  • Strong project management experience
  • Experience of working with government
  • Preferred experience and Knowledge
  • Experience engaging decision makers in government
  • Practical advocacy and campaigning experience in the development field
  • Ability / experience of managing a network
  • Experience of working in Christian environment
  • Experience working in advocacy
