The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Checking
and correcting editorial copy for facts, accuracy, taste, house-style;
language use, clarity and balance to conform to NMG Editorial Policy;
- Ensuring
NMG content is properly projected on digital platforms;
- Ensuring
timely publishing to digital platforms;
- Developing
and strengthening the NMG digital platforms as a 24/7 medium of breaking
news; and
- Updating
online content in keeping with changing news events.
Knowledge & Skills requirements:
- University
Degree;
- Diploma
in Journalism;
- 3
to 4 years working experience preferably as a sub— editor;
- Good
level of knowledge of African current affairs;
- Multimedia
editing skills; and
- Ability
to work with minimum supervision and cope with the pressure and tight
deadlines.
3. Web Reporter

multi-media non-linear stories;
- Generate
short-term enterprise stories and long term investigative projects for
multiplatform publishing;
- Fast-response
journalism to breaking stories; and
- Virtual
sourcing to complement coverage of far flung news events.
Knowledge & Skills requirements:
- University
Degree;
- Diploma
in Journalism;
- 3
to 4 years working experience preferably as a sub editor;
- Good
level of knowledge of African current affairs and issues.

to report through text, pictures and video; and

4. Web Moderator

social engagement on NMG’s digital platforms.
- Generating
stories using alternative formats for cross-platform convergence.
- Moderating
blogs to ensure compliance to NMG Editorial Policy and the terms of use

5. Content Syndication Editor

- Identify
and process multimedia content from across NMG platforms for syndication
to a global audience;
- Commission
unique, interesting and in-depth content on topical issues that can be
sold to a global and regional audience;
- Edit
all content to strict journalistic standards;
- Manage
and close sales enquiries and prospect for new clients;
- Manage
syndication clients’ needs, contracts and customer service.
Knowledge & Skills requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree in journalism and 5 years’ working experience preferably as an
editor in a busy newsroom;
- Good
understanding of multi-media content production.
- Rich
understanding of current affairs, business, lifestyle and sports issues.
- Demonstrable
ability to deliver on financial targets
- Strong
computer skills and ability to work with a Web Content Management Systems.
- Ability
to work with minimum supervision and cope with pressure.
- Solid
interpersonal communication skills.
