AMREF Kenya is looking for a qualified and highly motivated
individual to join the Information and Records Management team.
The position is based in Nairobi and reports to the Personal Assistant to Country Director.
Purpose of the Job
To identify and catalogue AMREF’s archival information, both in hard and soft copy; and to ensure their maintenance, control, use, security, storage, access and timely availability.

To identify and catalogue AMREF’s archival information, both in hard and soft copy; and to ensure their maintenance, control, use, security, storage, access and timely availability.
- Collecting,
scanning, organisng and storing AMREF vital records in a systematic
manner.
- Storing
in a retrievable manner the historical AMREF records and other archival
materials.
- Assist
developing a tracking system that ensures all records kept in safely and
are easily retrieved when required and ensuring confidentiality as
necessary
- Assist
develop finders guides and registers in both soft & hard copy to
provide easy access and retrieval of information as well as information
requested
- Provide
consultancy on demand to Programmes and Support Departments
- Assist
in in-house training on Records Management to staff and share skills &
ideas that relate to managing records in all their phases & aspects as
a way of demonstrating good records management,
- Share
the experience AMREF has had on management of their records with
participants of Information and Records Management (IARM) as part of the
course curriculum.
- Preparing
monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
Qualifications and Competencies
- The
ideal candidate should have a Higher National Diploma in Records
Management or its equivalent. A first degree is desirable.
- At
least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy organization.
- Excellent
ICT skills.
- Good
experience and knowledge of Records Management and Archiving.
- In
addition the ideal candidate must have strong written and oral
communication skills, be a team player and ability to work with minimal
supervision.
