Business Development Manager Career in Kenya

The Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) is the professional body of HR practitioners in Kenya whose mission is to promote, regulate and develop leading edge human resource management practices for enhanced individual and organization performance.

Besides provision of membership services and regulation of the HR profession, the Institute has ambitious plans to grow its portfolio business in HR training and consultancy services into a fully fledged subsidiary enterprise.

It is in this regard that the Institute is now seeking to recruit a 
Business Development Manager.

We are looking to recruit a highly qualified, experienced, self driven, dynamic and results-oriented individual.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Business Development Manager will be required to:
  • Provide strategic direction on new and existing business development in HR training, consultancy, research, publications and related services.
  • Undertake aggressive marketing activities to increase demand for IHRM open and in-house training programmes.
  • Carry out aggressive marketing activities to increase demand for HR consultancy assignments that meet the needs of target clients.
  • Prepare technical and financial proposals for both HR training and consultancy assignments in response to tenders or requests for proposals.
  • Coordinate the execution of HR training and consultancy assignments in liaison with IHRM Administrative Assistants and resource persons.
  • Prepare, implement and control IHRM annual training and consultancy budget.
Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Added advantage: Professional qualification in human resource management
  • Experience in design and development of training programs
  • Experience in preparing bids for HR consultancy assignments
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
