Telephone Operator Job Opportunity in Kenya

Job title: Telephone Operator 

Job holder: reports to Shop Manager and Assistant Manager 

Age: 19 – 35years 

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Handling of calls 
  • Interrupt busy lines if an emergency warrants.
  • Keep records of calls placed and received, and of related toll charges.
  • Observe signal lights on switchboards, and dial or press buttons to make connections.

  • Operate telephone switchboards and systems to advance and complete connections, including those for local, long distance, pay telephone, mobile, persontoperson, and emergency calls
  • Update directory information.
  • Record and handle all incoming and outgoing couriers
Customer Service 
  • Listen to customer requests, to answer questions and provide telephone information.
  • Respond to public inquiries
Any other duties upon request
