RTI is seeking qualified applicants for Regional Director of Africa Programs, who will serve as a senior member of RTI’s Global Health Group (GHG).
GHG is seeking a senior global health expert who has the strategic vision and indepth technical experience to direct RTI’s portfolio of programs in Africa and design strategies to grow RTI’s global health work in Africa.
This position will be based in RTI’s Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya.

- Management of technical development, program implementation, personnel, as well as budgetary and financial oversight for all aspects of Global Health’s Africa portfolio;
- providing strategic leadership and technical direction for all aspects of RTI’s health work in Africa;
- working with Africa Program staff and other RTI senior technical experts to analyze opportunities for program expansion and lead business development strategies.
- Serve as one of RTI’s most senior technical leaders for global health projects in Africa.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Masters Degree, Ph.D., or equivalent advanced degree in public health or related fields.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 16 years of experience (with at least 5 years in the Africa Region) leading donor-funded health projects or programs.
- Strong technical expertise in one of the following domains: HIV; malaria; RH; MCH; health systems strengthening; health policy.
- Prior experience in new business development to include designing and writing technical approaches and experience working with and managing USAID programs is required.
