The Academic Model Providing Access To Health Care (AMPATH) is a project under the auspices of Moi University School of Medicine and Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital whose aim is to provide sustainable efforts in HIV Prevention and Care.

Besides the MTRH site, AMPATH also supports MOH in 8 Districts in Rift Valley, 1 District in Nyanza and 11 Districts in Western Province.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates to work in AMPATH for the following vacant positions.

1. Data Manager

(AMPATH)

Role:

Reporting to the Program Manager AMPATH under the oversight of Assistant Program Manager-Data/IT, the successful candidate will among others be responsible for the following:-
  • Assist in planning, training, organizing, coordinating and controlling data management services in the program.
  • Provide technical assistance in data management to other data managers in the data management team as may be required.
Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Information technology, Computer Science or any other related field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation and manipulation of data; knowledge of database construction, management and retrieval methods.
  • Good communication, programming and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in research will be an added advantage.
2. Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

The Role:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the incumbent will among others be responsible for the following:- Design and implement a comprehensive M&E system for the program.

He/she must ensure that, the system generates high quality input, analysis, reports, and the information is useful for improving performance of the Program.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have:-
  • Masters Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Biostatistics or related Field.
  • Past Experience with PMTCT will be an added advantage
  • Good writing, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Training, knowledge, and experience with Excel, Ms Access, SAS, STATA or EPI INFO and/or qualitative data analysis software is a must.
  • Good understanding of public health issues particularly HIV/AIDS, TB, and reproductive health and knowledge on Community Health strategies.
Terms of Employment

The successful candidate will be employed on a 1-year renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and allowances.
