Kenya Tea Development Agency (MS) Ltd is a key player in the tea industry providing management services to the smallholder tea sub-sector for efficient production, processing and marketing of quality teas.

To ensure continued success and growth, we are seeking dynamic and highly talented individuals to join our management team in the following exciting and challenging positions.

Management Trainees 

Position scope

Reporting to the Factory Unit Manager, the successful candidates will undergo intensive on the job training to build capacity in general management of the factory in areas of extension services, logistics, processing and maintenance.

Key responsibilities
  • Receive training and perform duties in extension services, logistics, processing and maintenance of plant and machinery;
  • Participate in grower education, extension services, grower registration ,transfers, plant population census, leaf quality and effective management of established tea nurseries;
  • Participate in communicating the company’s policies to farmers as and when required;
  • Learn and participate in coordination of green leaf collection and delivery to the factory;
  • Receive training in all aspects of tea manufacture;
  • Participate in ensuring sound maintenance of production equipment;
  • Assist in the implementation of production schedules in order to ensure set targets are realized on time;
  • Participate in enforcing compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations;
  • Participate in the generation, updating and maintenance of all stock control records;
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications/Competencies/Experience

The ideal candidates must possess the following qualifications, competencies and experience:-
  • Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Production, or Agriculture;
  • At least two (2) years experience in processing, logistics or extension services;
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with the standard office applications;
  • Be aged not more than 28 years.
