Introduction

Mount Kenya University is a Chartered University operating as a non-profit making institution of higher learning in East Africa. The University has its main campus located in Thika Town.

It has also established campuses in Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nkubu(Meru) and Kigali (Rwanda) and programme co-ordination centres at Mumias and Kakamega.

Currently the University has seven (7) schools offering various Post-graduate, Bachelors, Diploma and Professional Certificate Courses.

The University is a member of Inter University Council of East Africa (IUCEA).

Head of Department - Nursing

In pursuance of our focus on being a centre of academic excellence,the University wishes to recruit a qualified Head of nursing department.

Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will report to the Dean School of Health Sciences and should have the following qualifications and experience:
  • A minimum of Masters of Nursing or Masters in any relevant Nursing field
  • Bsc. Nursing Science from a reputable University
  • Registered with the nursing council of Kenya.
  • Five years teaching experience in a University
  • Show evidence of active participation in departmental activities.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach and supervise undergraduate and post graduate students. He or she will initiate and direct relevant research projects.
