NGO Programme Officer Job in Nairobi

An NGO working on Human rights with special focus on Economic, Social and Cultural rights is recruiting a Programme Officer to work with its team based in Nairobi.
The Programme Officer will provide support in the management and implementation of the organizations program and assist the CEO with the following duties:
·         Manage the overall day-to-day running and implementation of the organisation’s activities.
·         Planning processes of the organisation, including the development of project proposals, budgets, reports and tools to monitor progress and evaluate impact of activities for effective implementation.
·         Ensure effective and timely implementation of outlined programme activities.

·         Preparation of programme quarterly reports, reports for the workshops and annual programme reports
·         Development of the programme’s networks and building of strategic partnerships with the Government, donors, the private sector and like-minded orgarnizations and communities.
·         Development of effective communication between the organisation and its members to ensure their participation and involvement.
·         Facilitate the development of IEC that will ensure that beneficiaries are informed, participate in, and provide feedback on all aspects of the Programme.
·         Provide advice on the development of a resource mobilization plan for the organisation
·         Support the establishment of a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.
Qualifications:
·         Must have at least a Bachelors degree in a relevant field, such as social studies, law, organizational development and any other relevant social science degree
·         At least two (2 years experience in programme coordination/ management dealing with development issues such democracy, human rights, and good governance:
Skills:
·         Must have in depth knowledge of Economic, Social and Cultural rights
·         Must have excellent analytical, writing, communication skills in English and Kiswahili language.
·         Must be knowledgeable on policy advocacy in the context of Kenya and other sub-Saharan African countries.
·         Must have knowledge on ICT
·         Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy and high integrity.
·         Must have knowledge in Monitoring and Evaluation & in research methodologies
·         Should have a broad knowledge of East Africa’s regional, political, social and economic institutions
·         Should have a broad knowledge of parliamentary and national budgetary processes
·         Knowledge in written and spoken French is an added advantage.
