Assistant GS&L Officer (MIS)
Ref: AGSLO/5/2011, based in Kisumu
Reporting to the Project Manager/GS & L Program Specialist, the Assistant GS&L Officer will maintain an up to date Group Savings and Loan Management Information System (MIS) for CARE Kenya.
The incumbent will be in charge of data management, maintenance of computer hardware, software and other resources assigned to him/her Networking and generating reports.

Job Summary & Purpose: To maintain an upto date Group Savings and Loan MIS for CARE Kenya. The incumbent will be expected to among other things do a data management maintenance of hardware and preparation of reports to donors and GS&L affiliated partners.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Data Management
·         Ensure a high quality of data from the Field Offices and projects
·         Ensure proper data entry into the MIS and analysis
·         Perform data cleaning to ensure that quality data is stored in the MIS
·         Generation of high quality reports to program management and staff.
Maintenance of Resources
·         Undertake proper use and maintenance of computer hardware, softeare and other resources assigned to him/her
Networking
·         Liaise with relevant CARE staff to ensure seamless flow of information.
Delegated duties
·         Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Authority:
1.    Spending Authority: NIL
2.    Supervision: Casual data entry staff (when necessary)
3.    Decision Making: Commensurate with the position

Working Conditions: Based in Kisumu, with regulated field visits
Qualifications:
1.    Education: Minimum of Diploma in Management of Information Systems or equivalent academic qualification
2.    Experience: 2 years experience in a busy environment
3.    Certificate: Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS), MS Access, MS Excel
4.    Competencies: Accurate, high level of numeracy and good analytical skills
