Motor Loss Assessment Coordinator Job in Kenya

A leading composite insurance company in Kenya invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Motor Loss Assessment Coordinator.

Reporting to the Claims Manager, the jobholder will coordinate and supervise performance of external motor assessors, repairers, towing agents and investigators, and ensure compliance with the set procedures in order to protect the company from losses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop service level agreeements for service providers – assessors, repairers, towing agents and investigators.

  • Carry out on-site assessment of minor damage to insured insured vehicles.
  • Review external assessors’ reports and ascertain the correctness of assessment and recommendations.
  • Carry out audit on repairs and follow through on findings by renegotiating costs with repairers.
  • Provide the necessary technical opinion on consistency of damage.
  • Verify the pricing of parts.
  • Negotiate terms, including mark-up and discounts on prices of parts and storage charges, with repairers.
  • Monitor the efficiency of the salvage disposal process and ensure it is carried out within the laid down procedures.
Requirements:
  • Higher Diploma in mechanical engineering, from a recognised in institution.
  • Certificate of Proficiency in insurance.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role – hands on experience in motor repairs will be an added advantage.
  • Sound knowledge in all aspects of motor claims.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Superior investigative skills.
  • Problem solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach in the process.
