Green Belt Movement Human Resource Manager Job in Kenya

The Green Belt Movement is one of the most prominent non -governmental organizations, based in Kenya, advocating for human rights and supporting good governance and peaceful democratic change through the protection of the environment.

The organization seeks to recruit in the following positions:

Human Resource Manager 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the position serves to provide strategic leadership and management oversight for the Human Resources and staff development in matters of strategy, policy compliance and operations.

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic Human Resources leadership.
  • Continually review the manuals and policy documents to ensure compliance with organizational strategy and the present challenges.
  • Facilitate effective staff performance management, staff development, remuneration management and welfare.
  • Supervise guide and train staff in the Human Resources Department
  • Carry out performance appraisal for the staff in the department and coordinate entire organization staff appraisal process
  • Set policies and procedures
  • Ensure that organizational operations are compliant with the policies and procedures
  • Arbitrate on disciplinary issues
Suitable candidates MUST have the following minimum qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management, Sociology, Business Administration, Social Sciences or any other art related field.
  • At least 3 years experience as a HR Generalist in a busy environment
  • Well versed with the current Kenyan labor laws.
  • Experience in a set ups with high staff numbers and multi cultural and partnerships arrangements.
  • Experience with working with the NGO sector will be an added advantage.

  • Ability to effectively supervise, motivate, train, mentor and performance – manage staff
