Introduction

Mount Kenya University is a Chartered University operating as a non-profit making institution of higher learning in East Africa. The University has its main campus located in Thika Town.

It has also established campuses in Mombasa, Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret, Nkubu (Meru) and Kigali (Rwanda).

Currently the University has seven (7) schools offering Bachelors, Diploma and Professional Certificate Courses.

Various post-graduate courses in Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), and Masters, are co-offered through Academic Programme Exchange with Gulu University.

The University is a member of Inter University Council of East Africa (IUCEA).

Qualifications

Associate Professors / Senior Lecturers
  • Holders of a PhD Degree in relevant area from a recognized University.
  • At least three years of University teaching.
  • Those applying for Associate Professor should indicate their publications and post-graduate supervision.
Lecturers 
  • Holders of a PhD Degree, in relevant area from a recognized University and at least two years of University teaching experience.
  • or Master’s Degree with three years University teaching experience.
Assistant Lecturers
  • Holders of Masters Degree and registered for PhD Degree.
Information Communication Technology (ICT) Co-ordinator
  • Holders of a PhD Degree, in relevant area from a recognized University and at least two years of University teaching experience.
  • or Master’s Degree with three years University teaching experience.
Administrative Assistants
  • Should have a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Secretarial/Office Management and work experience of at least 2 years.
Science Laboratory Technicians 
  • Should have a minimum of Diploma in Applied Biology/Science Laboratory and work experience of at least 2 years.
IT Technicians 
  • Should have a minimum of Diploma in Information Technology, Certification in A+ and N+ and work experience of at least 1 year.
Internal Audit Assistant 
  • Should have a minimum of CPA Part 2 and two years experience preferably in an Audit Firm.

  • Team player who can work with minimum supervision.
