                             Job Duties and Responsibilities
ACTED is currently looking for an experienced AME Officer to support its Assessment, Monitoring, and Evaluation Department in its areas of intervention in East Pokot, Kenya.  Reporting to the Area Co-ordinator, his specific duties will include:

  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of Appraisal, monitoring and evaluation strategies.

  • Design AME TORS to propose needed AME work to Capital Office as required based on call for proposals, program log-frames, proposals, and other relevant background documents provided and/or requests.
  • Inform Capital and Area Offices on the feasibility of AME work required regarding the security situation or any other external constraints.
  • Assist staff in technical appraisals of work to be undertaken where possible
  • Summarize the comments of AME monitors/team members regarding the methodology used for any AME work and provide feedback to Capital and Area Office
  • Create databases for all AME activities.
  • Write assessment reports including recommendations as requested according to deadlines provided by Area Coordinator/Capital Office
  • Create and Manage a Resource Centre (both physical and online versions)

                             Qualifications
§  Academic background:  A degree or a diploma in community development, sociology, or similar field;
§  Working language:  English, Kiswahili, and Pokot;
§  Computer knowledge:  Able to use computer applications;
§  Excellent spoken and written English;Pokot language is an added advantage
§  At least 2 years of proven experience in research, monitoring and evaluation in community development or similar field.
§  Ability to organize and plan effectively
§  Ability to travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure
§  Familiarity with aid system and the ability to understand donor and government requirements as well as other stake holders.
