Manager Trade Finance – Business Development

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Assets, the Manager Trade Finance will be responsible for developing and implementing the Bank’s trade finance strategies and managing business growth with the objective of achieving budgeted NFI revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify trade finance business opportunities and ensure the Bank meets its trade budgets.
  • Lead and coordinate the business development efforts of Trade Finance and related incomes.
  • Develop pricing proposal in timely and proper manner, by also considering pricing justification to ensure that the Bank’s offering is constantly reviewed and competitive.
  • Ensure that current and new Trade Finance client portfolio receives efficient service and that all risks are adequately identified, mitigated and proactively managed.
  • Ensure proper call preparation and maintenance of any previous call reports, client’s financial statements, and all background information gathered on client.
  • Identify more revenue growth opportunities from existing as well as prospected clients, emphasizing on non-interest related revenue.
Qualification; Experience and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline.
  • Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) and CPA (K) an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five years experience in Documentary Credit business development.
  • Ability to develop innovative trade finance instruments to suite specific business needs and circumstances.

Manager HR Organization Development 

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources Development, the job holder will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of talent development and performance management while ensuring organization learning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in developing organisational development strategies and policies in line with industry and best practice.
  • Manage organization learning and talent development as well as individual learning and development plans.
  • Support line management in the running and managing of the Bank’s performance management system.
  • Review and regularly the Bank’s structure to support the Bank’s strategic objectives and management decisions.
  • Design and implement talent management programs to attract highly skilled candidates; develop and foster new staff; develop and retain high performing employees.
  • Develop and implement programmes that support the sustainability of the Bank’s culture.
  • Develop and implement communication programmes to support cultural improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the job analysis and evaluation process.
Qualifications; Experience and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree and;
  • 4 years managerial experience in a similar role.
  • Diploma in human resource management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good business acumen at an operational level.

Manager Credit Analysis

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Assets, the Manager Credit Analysis will be responsible for managing the credit analysis process of new and existing facilities while ensuring high quality standards
of analysis and appraisal within efficient turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage the appraisal and documentation process, renewals, daily and periodic analysis reports relevant for ensuring a robust credit portfolio management environment.
  • Monitor the existing borrowing relationships to ensure performance and profitability of the corporate and SME facilities.
  • Liaise with the Assets Relationship Team in regard to the status of their new facility applications, existing facility renewals and enhancements.
  • Monitor credit quality and highlight early warning signs in the credit portfolio.
  • Oversee the process of preparation of credit reports for new proposals and renewals and provide guidance.
  • Ensure there is periodic economic analysis, industry studies and recommend strategy and plans of action.
  • Undertake periodic stress tests on the credit portfolio in conjunction with the Risk Department.
  • Contribute to product development to ensure that credit risk exposure is managed.
  • Participate in the formulation of corporate and SME banking strategies.
Qualification; Experience and Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline.
  • Be a Certified Public Accountant — CPA (K) or ACCA.
  • Minimum of five years in a credit analysis and processing
  • Strong credit analytical skills.
  • Vast knowledge of economy, sectors and industries.
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communication skis.
  • Exposure and working knowledge of Credit Scoring.
Manager Product Development

The Role:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Product Development Manager will be responsible for the development and planning of the Bank’s Products and Services and identifying product and services opportunities in the market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop products from concept to commercialization.
  • Develop and implement annual product plans to achieve both Profitability and Market share.
  • Research, design, and develop campaigns to increase product uptake and penetration in the market.
  • Design Bank’s Pricing Strategy.
  • Sales forecasting of specific products.
  • Executing and monitoring the launch/re-launch plans of new and existing products.
  • Designing and implementing product launches for online channels.
  • Working with the Marketing & Communications Department to determine customer requirements and persona.
Qualifications; Experience and Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business related field.
  • At least 4 years of field experience in product development.
  • Innovative, creative and results oriented
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Ability to execute business plans and concepts effectively
  • Ability to conceptualize, research and evaluate new ideas objectively from a market and financial standpoint.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing and development processes
  • Should have good presentation skills including the ability to handle many assignments simultaneously.
  • Must have a high degree Exceptional of tolerance for uncertainty since new product development is ever changing.
Assistant Manager Marketing

The Role:

Reporting to the Head of Marketing & Communications, the Assistant Marketing Manager will be participating in the development and execution of marketing plans consistent with the Bank’s strategy, growth and profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing initiatives, based on marketing strategy and objectives as well as market characteristics.
  • Evaluate the financial aspects of product development and roll-out, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on--investment and profit-loss projections.
  • Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
  • Liaise with Product Development Manager on product specifications; branding and new product development programs.
  • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, and suppliers to market products and services.
  • Initiate market research studies and analyze their findings as well as conduct economic and commercial surveys to identify potential markets for products and services.
Qualifications; Experience and Competencies:
  • Bachelors degree in marketing or business related field.
  • At least 2-3 years experience in marketing or related field.
  • A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
  • Innovative, creative and results oriented.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • First class copyright skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of statistical software for analyzing systems and return on marketing investment employed.
Assistant Manager Forex Sales

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager Corporate Dealing and Forex Sales, the Assistant Manager Forex Sales will be responsible for developing and executing strategies for business development for the Bank’s SME and Retail segments with an aim of growing the forex business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovating new forex sales strategies for SME and Retail segment and develop a clear Action plan for selling Forex.
  • Lead and Co-ordinate forex team in branches with the aim of acquiring of new SME and retail forex clients.
  • Establish and grow the forex portfolio.
  • Actively execute client calls to existing and new clients through well-managed weekly call plan.
  • Manage existing branch forex clients and ensure satisfaction in relation to bank forex products and services.
  • Actively manage FX SME portfolio of clients to ensure effective cross-selling of other bank products.
  • Carrying out Market Intelligence with respect to the SME and Retail Market.
  • Oversee Sales Administration, Reporting, Budgeting and Sales Measurement.
  • Cross-sell other Bank products emphasizing non-interest revenue.
Qualifications; Experience and Competencies
  • A bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline.
  • At least 2-3 years sales experience.
  • Curious, innovative and attentive to detail.
  • Excellent networking skills and a sound knowledge of the banking environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
