Vacancy: Social Performance Manager
Duration: 2 Years (With possibility of extension)
Location: Nairobi Kenya

Background:
The Association of Microfinance Institution of Kenya (AMFI —K) is a National Network of Micro finance institutions. AMFI is registered under Companies Act.
To serve its members better AMFI is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of a Social Performance Manager.


Reporting to the CEO of AMFI the Social Performance Manager (SPM) will promote, implement and coordinate the SPM activities in Kenya.
She/He will assist the Microfinance institutions to sustain, promote and implement SPM in order to improve their transparency and enhance their capacity to innovate products that have greater social impact on the lives of their clients and their families.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Implementation of SPM activities in Kenya
  • Development of rational social performance management (SPM) plan
  • Assist AMFI to identify and support MFIs that require support.
  • Coordinate the local consultants in their support to the industry.
  • Monitor the provision of 5PM technical assistance provided to MFIs to ensure that ¡t is both timely and of high quality.
  • Identity and develop strategic partnership with other International Agencies interested in supporting social performance management and then leveragetheir efforts in order to generate greater impact on the microfinance sector development in the country.
  • Ensure that project targets are met on timely basis.
  • Ensure timely submissions of narrative and financial reports t0AMFI and supporting agencies.
  • Development of harmonized manuals to be used for technical support by the consultants.
  • Any other duties as given from time to time by the CEO —AMFI on SPM.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Masters Degree or equivalent in Economics, Business Administration, Sociology or Finance.
Experience:
Three to five years of experience as a program coordinator/ manager in a large institution dealing with Micro finance. Experience in training, Project monitoring, social performance management will be an added advantage.
Communication Skills:
  • Fluency in English is required. Hands on Word, Excel, Power Point, Ms Project and Internet are mandatory.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including capacity for proposal development is essential.
Functional and Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and focus on priorities.
  • Forward looking
  • Solid Leadership and strategic thinking, experience and networking.
  • Practical experience and training in Social Performance Management tools and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with different institutions and Variety of stake holders.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience ¡n training, listening, implementation and learning facilitation.
Travel:
The position requires extensive travel in Kenya and one should be a qualified driver, with a valid driving license.
Remuneration:
A generous package commensurate with experience and qualifications will be awarded to the qualified candidate.
