ACF International is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization.

With 30 years of expertise in emergency situations of conflict, natural disaster,
and chronic food insecurity, ACF runs life-saving programs in some 40 countries benefiting five million people each year.

ACF International has been conducting humanitarian programs in Somalia since May 1992. At present, ACF is conducting its humanitarian activities focused on Severe and moderate malnutrition, Medical programs and Water & Sanitation programs via program bases in Mogadishu (since 1995) and Wajid (since 2003) and the Coordination office in Nairobi.

We are currently looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions:

Safety & Security Manager (Incl. Community Relations & Liaison)

The Safety & Security Manager is responsible for managing the Safety & Security of all ACF activities in Somalia and of our Coordination Team based in Nairobi under the direct supervision of the Country Director. S/he will ensure that all respective ACF policies are adhered to by all individuals concerned and are continuously adapted and improved.

Duties include crisis management, staff training, frequent risk analysis and the provision of expert advice in order to mitigate risks. The ability to interact with all parties such as staff, authorities, communities and partners in both Kenya and Somalia while always maintaining ACF’s principled neutrality and operational independence is paramount

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for highly motivated and qualified individuals with extensive experience in managing safety & security matters preferably with humanitarian organizations. S/he must be experienced in all relevant tasks and able to compile high quality reports. S/he must have proven experience in staff management and training and has strong interpersonal and communication skills.

S/he must be computer literate with proficiency in using of Word, Excel and other data analysis tools. S/he must be fluent in both written and oral communication in English. Knowledge of Somali & Kiswahili language is desirable.

Deputy Human Resources Coordinator

The Deputy Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources Coordinator in elaboration and implementation of the HR Strategy in consonance with the Mission Needs.

Specifically the post holder will be responsible for managing the recruitment cycle, facilitate employee inductions and monitoring the annual performance management cycle.

S/he will also play an important role in compilation of the mission training plan and ensuring the implementation of the same.

In addition to this, under the leadership of the HRCO, the Deputy HRCO together with the Human Resources Officer (Contracts Management) will participate/ lead (As required of) in elaboration of projects related to Human Resources

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for qualified professionals with a Bachelors degree in Human Resources or Organisation Development with at least 3 years relevant experience in similar contexts/region in an organization of equivalent size and complexity.

S/he will have extensive knowledge of standard Human Resources procedures and practices with analytical skills to meet diverse problem solving challenges. S/he will have proven experience of managing and developing staff capacity and will exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills. S/he will have proficiency in usage of word, excel and other data analysis tools.

S/he will be fluent in both written and oral communication in English. Knowledge of Somali language will be advantageous.
