Functional Title: Driver (3 positions)
Duty Station: Dadaab
Date of Entry of Duty: As soon as possible
Duration of Assignment: Initially up to 31 December 2011

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Admin Associate and overall supervision of the Admin/Finance Officer, the incumbents will perform the following duties and functions:
·         Drives staff members and official visitors;
·         Meets official personnel at the airport ;
·         Collects and delivers mail or documents when required;
·         Use his own initiative through security awareness of the operational area to avoid attacks on passengers;
·         Acts as interpreter when carrying passengers who do not understand the local languages and whenever required;
·         Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc., performs minor repairs and arranges for other repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean;
·         Logs official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, greasing, and update the computerized control sheet etc.;
·         Ensures that vehicle assigned is serviced and properly checked before undertaking a long drive
·         Remain up-to-date with the entire road network in the area, their physical status at any given time. He/she should be fully conversant with local traffic rules and standards. Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident;
·         Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification

Education: Completion of secondary education, valid driver’s licence, knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
Skills and Competencies:
·         Mechanical skills
·         Good communication skills
·         Computer skills
Experience: Five yeas of job experience as a driver and safe driving record.
Languages: Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
