Supply Chain Manager Kenya Jobs.

Our client is the leading manufacturer of electrical distribution transformers and switchgears in East and Central Africa. Located in Arusha, Tanzania, the company has experienced high level of growth in production capacity, including an increase in regional market share.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the
Procurement, Stores and Logistics functions ensuring that the supply chain processes are cost
effective and efficiently run.
Responsibilities
•Provide leadership in the supply chain process which includes planning of procurement,
inventory control, logistics and distribution.
•Develop a supplier base for various raw materials and effective vendor performance
management of key suppliers.
•Select and vet vendors both locally and internationally, in line with organization’s procedures.
•Manage short and long term demand plans with supplier capacity while increasing material
availability & reducing distribution costs.
•Ensure inventory accuracy through improved stock management systems.
•Contribute to the overall organization’s growth through strategic planning and capitalization on
opportunities to reduce costs by improving the supply and logistics process flow.
•Establish plans, policies, systems, and procedures that will achieve strategic objectives.
•Create item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon to be used for ordering and inventory
management purposes.
•Verification and approval of purchasing & contracting documentation.
•Oversee the complete tendering process.
•Budgetary planning for new accounts related to material supply and logistics.
•Negotiate improved pricing, product quality and delivery times.
•Continually improving supply chain KPIs including developing key metrics and reporting
structures that enable effective performance management.
•Ensure shipments, imports and exports, comply with Tiscan and Customs regulation in
Tanzania.
•Liaise closely with Shipping /Freight Forwarding agents and contract the most effective in each
operating route/ area.
Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
•CIPS professional qualification
•Masters degree in Procurement, Logistics and Supply Chain Management is preferred
•Five years procurement experience at management level; experience in a manufacturing
environment will be preferred
•Must have excellent leadership and staff management skills
•Computer literate
