Litein Tea Factory Co. Ltd is seeking to recruit suitably qualified, dynamic and self motivated persons to fill the following vacant positions at Chelal satellite factory.

Boiler Operator

Reporting to the Plant Technician – the successful candidate will be responsible for: -
  • Operating steam supply equipment as per approved procedures;
  • Reporting malfunction of the steam supply equipment;
  • Supplying adequate steam in the production lines;

  • Adding treated water and chemicals to boiler systems;
  • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations;
  • Monitoring pressure and steam supply to the factory.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • ‘O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C’ Plain;
  • Diploma /Certificate in Electrical Engineering;
  • Certificate in Boiler Operation;
  • At least 3 years experience in boiler operations.
Artisan 
Grade 1

Reporting to the Plant Technician – the successful candidates will be responsible for: -
  • Overseeing factory machinery maintenance and installations;
  • Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment;
  • Advising the Plant Technician and management on mechanical breakdowns and highlighting possible corrective measures;
  • Diagnosing of factory mechanical faults;
  • Participating in the preventive maintenance programs;
  • Participating in machine change over, shut down and start up;
  • Setting machines to meet product quality standards;
  • Fabricating machine components as and when required;
  • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • ‘O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C’ Plain;
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option) or Technician III in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution;
  • At least three (3) years working experience in a busy manufacturing plant.
Store Keeper 

Reporting to the Production Manager - the successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Controlling stocks as per approved policies and procedures;
  • Ensuring safe custody of stocks and monitoring consumption and levels of the stocks;
  • Making requisition for stock items as required;
  • Receiving and verifying deliveries of materials/goods against documentation and issuing the same as per approved procedures;
  • Minimizing stock loses by reducing damages and monitoring expiry dates;
  • Maintaining the store within the approved procedures and standards of house keeping;
  • Advising management on slow moving or obsolete stocks;
  • Preparing timely and accurate reports;
  • Carrying out regular stock take;
  • Monitoring the stock levels in order to re-activate ordering process;
  • Participating in the processing of LPOs.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • ‘O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C +” Plus;
  • Diploma in purchasing and supplies;
  • At least five (3) years relevant working experience;
  • Computer literacy.
Senior Factory Electrician 

Reporting to the Plant Technician - the successful candidate will be responsible for: -
  • Supervising electrical maintenance staff in the factory;
  • Electrical installation and maintenance of electrical equipment in the factory;
  • Maintenance and servicing of standby generators;
  • Motor rewinding and maintenance;
  • Maintenance of fuel oil burners and other boiler accessories;
  • Diagnosing electrical faults and ensuring timely repairs;
  • Requisitioning for and verification of quality electrical spares and accessories;
  • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • ‘O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C’ Plain;
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technician III certificate;
  • At least five (5) years relevant working experience;
  • Those with experience in handling electrical boiler burners will have an added advantage;
  • Computer literacy.
Plant/Mechanical Technician

Reporting to the Factory Unit Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-
  • Maintaining a comprehensive preventive maintenance schedule for the entire factory unit and its fleet of vehicles;
  • Allocating duties and supervising both machinery and fleet maintenance teams;
  • Diagnosing faults and ensuring timely repairs of the machinery, equipment and fleet;
  • Requisitioning and verifying quality of spares ordered both for machinery and fleet maintenance;
  • Writing technical reports on plant and fleet maintenance;
  • Timely scheduling of statutory maintenance and repairs steam boilers and diesel generators;
  • Installation and commissioning of new machinery;
  • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • ‘O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C’ Plain or above;
  • Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option) from a recognized institution;
  • At least five (5) years experience gained in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the tea industry;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Certificate of good conduct.
