FIDA Kenya Public Relations & Communications Officer Job Vacancy

FIDA Kenya is an organization that is committed to the creation of a society that is free of all forms of discrimination against women and is looking for dynamic, innovative and experienced individual to fill the following position: -

Public Relations & Communications Officer (to be based at the Nairobi Office)

Duties: -
  • To enhance the visibility of FIDA Keno on issues of gender and transformative justice.
  • Development and implementation of communication strategies and policies.
  • Coordination of publicity and advocacy strategies for various FIDA Kenya programs.

  • Monitoring coverage, media coverage of FIDA Kenya and women’s rights issues and responding to the same.
  • Drafting of speeches, press statements and articles for publication in various media.
  • Coordination of press conferences and other media events.
  • FIDA Kenya website maintenance.
  • Networking with like minded organizations for information sharing.
  • Manage the preparation and production of FDA Kenya journals and publications.
  • Undertake any other tasks as commensurate with the post.
Qualifications and Attributes:.

The ideal candidate should posses the following qualifications and attributes:-
  • Hold a Bachelors degree from a recognized University majoring in Mass Communication or its equivalent in related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 Years post qualification professional experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in gender & women’s rights issues.
  • Knowledge of media and experience in program management.
  • Proficiency in computers and maintaining websites.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Social & outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Proven excellent writing skills, with strong organizational skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
