FH Kenya Community Development Facilitator Jobs

FH/Kenya (Food for the Hungry), a Christian Relief and Development NGO seek to recruit for the following 4 positions under HIV/AIDS Program:

Community Development Facilitator (CDF) (2)

Duty Station: Meru and Isiolo

Duration of contract: 1 year

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position of Community Development Facilitator (CDF). 

The successful candidates will be offered a Fixed Term Appointment for one year with a probation period of three (3) months. Further extension will be based on organizational needs, funding availability and satisfactory performances.

Job Summary

The Community Development Facilitator will be handle Social Work, Counselling, and Training, leading small group discussions, and other project activities in the district.

S/he will be working as part of a team to ensure HIV/AIDS support and needs for churches, leaders and families are being addressed. This is a key position within the HIV/AIDS programme involving working with local partners, churches and GOK Line Ministries.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand individual OVCs and PLWHA and their families and document their historical background details (their home, their school etc..)
  • Conduct trainings, counselling to OVCs, OVCs Caregivers, Youths, PLWHA and Couples
  • Distribute product and other support offered by FH to beneficiaries and ensure proper documentation of the same.
  • Forge links with other organizations and institutions which are working with OVSs, PLWHA and youth in order to improve the effectiveness of the FH Kenya program.
  • Submission of monthly progress reports among other duties.
Key Requirements/Qualifications
  • Must hold at least Diploma in Community Work, Counselling, Public Health, Social Work or equivalent.
  • Proven field-based knowledge and experience in OVC, CHBC and related program areas.
  • Must have minimum of 3 years NGO Project/program related implementation.
  • Should have a good command of both written and verbal English, Kiswahili and at least one local language
  • Understanding of OVC and PCHBC Programming issues and knowledge of networks for similar programs in the sub-region
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Computer literacy and team player is an added advantage.
