Job Title: 
Human Resource Manager

Job Ref: EGPAF/HRM/NBO/2011

Location: Nairobi

Reports To: Associate Director of Operations

Overall Job Function:

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for all aspects of the human resource function within the country program.

The position is responsible primarily for recruiting, retention, performance, employee relations, compensation, compliance, individual professional development and succession planning.

The incumbent ensures that HR initiatives are aligned with EGPAF’s mission, values and long-term business strategy, and that they support the evolving HR needs of the country program.

The overall objective of the position is to support the development and retention of a high performance work force and a learning culture.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or preferably advanced degree in human resource management, organization development, organizational psychology or similar.
  • Additional professional certification in HRM preferred.
  • 7-10 years experience in human resource management in progressively responsible roles, with sound cross-functional experience.
  • Extensive experience in multi-cultural, multi-national and multi-site non-profit organizations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Expertise in national labour law, employment legislation & employment practices.
  • NGO and international donor/grantee compliance experience a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, customer service, consulting, coaching and organizational skills, with a track record of driving change and innovation.
  • Strong problem solver with strong business skills and strategic acumen, organizational diagnostic skills, analytical skills, and excellent team-building skills.
  • High energy and maturity with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing priorities.
Job Title: Senior Service Delivery Advisor

Job Ref: AP/SDA/KSM/2011

Location: Kisumu

Reports To: The Deputy Project Director

Overall Job Function:

The Senior Service Delivery Advisor/Team leader will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and monitoring of facility based health services including HIV Care and treatment, TB, PMTCT, RH/FP, MNCH and Malaria in project supported sites in Nyanza and Western Provinces.

Education and Experience
  • Medical Doctor with MPH or other master’s degree in a medical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience providing senior project management to health service delivery in HIV projects
  • Hands on clinical experience in HIV
  • Proven experience and familiarity with MOH/GOK health systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrable supervisory skills, ability to inspire teamwork and motivate staff and partners to achieve results. .
  • Track record of directing, managing change and achieving results

Job Title: Senior Technical Advisor, Health System Strengthening

Job Ref: AP/HSS/KSM/2011

Location: Kisumu

Reports To: Deputy Project Director

The Senior Technical Advisor, Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the entire project to support the strengthening of districts health service delivery systems.

The Senior Technical Advisor HSS will provide regular technical support to project teams as well as to partner organizations to help them establish quality, sound, reliable, effective, and efficient project management systems.

Education and Experience
  • Master’s or other advanced degree in business, finance, administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience at senior technical level providing capacity building, organizational development, financial and project management services to health service delivery projects in resource limited settings.
  • Minimum 10 years experience and demonstrated leadership working with USAID or other donor-funded projects.
  • Proven experience in performance based financing as well as sound financial grants management and technical expertise in the Kenyan health services.

Job Title: Laboratory Technical Advisor

Location: Kisumu

Reports To: Deputy Project Director

Overall Job Functions:

The Laboratory Technical Advisor provides oversight and technical advice for both the implementation and management of overall laboratory quality assurance activities and mentorship as needed to project supported service delivery sites and partners in Nyanza and
Western Provinces.

Education and Experience:
  • Degree or Higher Diploma in Laboratory Sciences from a recognised University/Institution
  • Registered by the Kenya Medical Laboratory Board
  • Experience in HIV related laboratory diagnostics
  • Knowledge of MOH public health structures
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to synthesize feedback quickly and efficiently
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving and strong leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
  • Efficient communicator by phone and e-mail.
The project will support Ministry of Health (MOH) staff at provincial, district, facility, and community levels to achieve virtual elimination of paediatric HIV.

It will support the establishment of MTCT-free zones, which aim to reduce vertical transmission to less than 5% by December 2011 in the Siaya, Kisumu East, and Rongo districts of Nyanza Province.

Job Title: 
Data Manager

Job Ref: UNICEF/DM/KSM/2011

Location: Kisumu

Reports To: Project Officer

Overall Job Function:

The Data Manager will work to ensure furtherance of the UNICEF Project agenda of improving quality of integrated HIV services through continuous quality improvement, data quality assessments, technical assistance and capacity building of health care workers at the district
and facility level in support of strategic information activities.

S/he will provide oversight to M&E and data management components within the UNICEF Project and at the facility level.

Education and Experience:
  • BSc Degree in social sciences from a recognized University
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in providing technical and managerial support in data entry and M&E activities
  • Familiar with and experience in NASCOP/MOH reporting requirements and data collection tools
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Takes initiative and able to work without supervision in a dynamic multi-cultural environment
  • Willingness to travel regularly to facilities
  • Ability to synthesize feedback quickly and efficiently
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving and strong leadership skills
