Amaco Claims Manager Job in Kenya

Africa Merchant Assurance Company Limited (AMACO) is undergoing planned rapid growth in its portfolio in the provision of both motor and non motor insurance products.

This has created a strategic need to fill the position of 
Claims Manager

The Position

The Claims Manager reports to the General Manager and has overall leadership and management of the Claims department, handling both legal and material claims.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Co-ordinate and maintain expeditious and efficient processing of claims and ensure customer needs are attended to fairly and promptly.
  • Ensure claims reserves are reviewed consistently
  • Approve claims for settlement
  • Analyze claims data to identify issues, and ensure that all relevant issues relating to underwriting policies, reinsurance recoveries are identified and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  • Set standards (benchmarks) for measuring the performance of strategic customer relationship and communication.
  • Ensure that all claims fall within the scope of respective insurance policy.
  • Identify, appoint and maintain an efficient and effective panel of service providers-assessors, investigators, garages.
  • Preparation of periodical claims and other management reports.
  • Supervising, appraising, training and development of staff in the department.
Experience and Qualifications
  • A University graduate with full ACII qualifications. An MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Have eight (8) years experience in the insurance sector, two of which should be at the level of manager.
  • Track record of dealing with motor and non motor insurance business.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proven experience in establishing and motivating an efficient team.
  • Self driven individual with impeccable integrity.
