Job Summary
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Development Manager will deliver a full
logistics, purchasing and planning service to meet the current and future needs of the organization;
support the Business units with supply chain development and projects in order to optimize returns
and earnings; ensure Supply Chain staff in the region are suitably selected, trained, developed and
motivated to meet current and future business needs.

Responsibilities
•Contribute, as part of the management team, to the development of the company’s strategy
and analyze and resolve issues related to company management.
•Define, propose and monitor the implementation of the department(s) strategy under his/her
responsibility in line with the company strategy including implementation of the department(s)
plans and objectives in line with departmental strategy.
•Ensure that the organization is adequately organized and structured, and has effective methods
and procedures as well as the appropriate technical resources to achieve the agreed mission
and objectives including ensuring acquisition of right personnel to achieve mission and
objectives.
•Manage the Countries and Corporate Supply Chain teams to ensure that customer expectation
for Customer Service is met.
•Manage the Distribution operation by road and sea to ensure that cost targets are reached and
achieve Best in Class status within the market as bench marked externally.
•Represent the organizations’ Supply Chain with the trade and develop strategies to ensure that
organization achieves competitive advantage through Logistics.
•Provide a cost effective Purchasing service for Raw Materials Commodities Packaging and Goods
and Services to Regions’ business liaising with the Purchasing team as required and ensure a
planned reduction in costs of production.
•Implement effectively Supply Chain Best Practices for the EAR Countries and Head office
ensuring that implementation dates are met, with minimum disruptions of business.
•Ensure all inter-market supply is effectively managed for the affiliate markets as well as the
EAR and that all Supply chain Key Performance Indicators are achieved.
•Contribute to the achievement of business growth including support to the Food and Nutrition
Business Units with Supply Chain initiatives to ensure that it achieves targets, growth and that
the business takes opportunities within the market place
•Contribute to support of development of an effective Zone Supply Chain organization to meet
the future and current needs of the business.
•Organize the EAR Monthly Operational Review with an 18 months business outlook, The EAR
New product Development Planning and Currencies and Commodities planning meeting.
•Manage materials planning and Production planning for all factories.

Requirements
•Degree in Economics/ Supply and Purchasing/ Engineering
•Minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain Development
•Working knowledge of customer service with ability to create positive and effective
relationships with customers and suppliers
•Knowledge of general business, management processes and Supply Chain Best Practices
•Knowledge of existing regulatory affairs, customs clearance procedures, inter-markets supply
operations.
•2-3 years experience of people management that includes motivating direct and cross
functional teams.
•Strategically and operational management abilities.
•Effective presentation skills.
•Ability to influence colleagues from other functions as to the supply chain needs and
perspective
•Highly numerate and ability to assimilate large amounts of data
