Senior Procurement Officer Job in Kenya - African Wildlife Foundation (AWF)

AWF currently seeks to hire a
 Senior Procurement Officer to be based in its Headquarter Office in Nairobi, Kenya.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Senior Procurement Officer will initially assist the CFO, Director of Finance, and Operations Manager to establish a set of tools, procedures and best practices within AWF governing procurements, contracting, and sub grants.

Once basic systems are in place, the SPO will assist in hiring and managing a geographically dispersed team of procurement officers. The team’s mission will be to ensure that procurements are transacted timely, while ensuring good value for money, and comply with all AWF and donor budgetary and procedural requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Must be fully fluent in both French and English.
  • Degree in business related field
  • Diploma in purchasing and supplies.
  • Member of CIPS (Certified institute of Purchasing and Supplies) or KISM( Kenya Institute of supplies and Management)
  • 5-8 years work experience in procurements, preferably in a donor/grant funded non-profit organization.
  • Excellent knowledge of industry best practices and the ability to translate this knowledge into policies and procedures within AWF.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations quickly, accurately, and cordially.
  • Strong management and mentoring skills, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong level of competence with Excel, accounting/information systems.
  • Professional demeanor with an unwavering commitment to honesty and integrity.
  • Strong team commitment and drive for personal and organizational achievement.
