Sameer Africa Limited, a leading tyre solutions provider with offices in Nairobi and with operations within the COMESA Region has exciting opportunities for talented, dynamic and results driven individuals to fill the following positions based in Nairobi :-

1. General Manager, Sales (Kenya)

Reporting to the Managing Director, the job holder will have the overall responsibility of managing the sales function in order to deliver business objectives in the Kenyan market.

Key Responsibilities will include:-
  • Formulating and leading in the implementation of sales channel development strategy

  • Identifying new trade opportunities for development with a view to increasing volumes and market share
  • Analysing and interpreting market trends and recommending appropriate strategies
  • Sales forecasting and development of appropriate processes and tools
  • Leading in the setting, implementation, monitoring and management of sales targets
  • Reviewing and implementing functional policies, processes, procedures and programmes
  • Developing and managing trade channels and ensuring adherence to agreed terms of trade
  • Ensuring and monitoring customer satisfaction
  • Developing, training, motivating and evaluating the sales team
  • Identifying, implementing and benchmarking best practices in customer management

  • Growth and market share
  • Implementation and management of Trading Terms
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and experience
  • Bachelors’ Degree (A post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage)
  • Channel Strategy development, management and execution
  • Formulating, implementing and monitoring Sales strategy and plans
  • Proven track record in executing sales plans
  • Self-driven and result oriented individual
  • A team player with excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • At least ten years’ experience in senior Management positions in Sales & Marketing functions in a dynamic market environment
2) Management Accountant

Reporting to the General Manager, Finance, the job holder will be responsible for managing business information for optimal decision making for profitability and growth.

Key Responsibilities will include:-
  • Creating, implementing and monitoring processes and procedures around the creation of monthly forecasts;
  • Reviewing and monitoring product profitability trends and variance analysis
  • Carrying out price modelling and product life cycle analysis and providing relevant management information for new product development
  • Monitoring performance against budgets and ensuring that the budgetary controls are in line with business objectives
  • Monitoring of business performance against set targets and recommending appropriate actions
  • Carrying out cost / benefit analysis of projects and other investments decisions
  • Contributing to medium and long-term business planning and assessing impact of key strategic decisions
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience
  • Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting or Bachelor of Business Administration
  • Accounting qualification - CPA (K) or ACCA or CIMA
  • Sound knowledge of Product costing
  • Internal controls and risk management
  • Investment/Project appraisal
  • A detail conscious individual with strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in ERP applications (Experience in SAP will be an added advantage)
  • A team player with excellent communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • At least 8 years working experience in a manufacturing concern
3) Mechanical Engineers

We are seeking to fill the following Mechanical Engineering positions:-

I) Projects Engineer

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the job holder will be responsible for the implementation of capital projects and factory improvement programmes.

Among Others, Key Responsibilities will be;-
  • Leading in the implementation of capital projects from design, scheduling, procurement, construction, installation,commissioning and documentation.
  • Participating in capital planning programs
  • Coordinating capital proposals preparation and project appraisals
Key Deliverables
  • Timely implementation of Capital Projects
  • Delivery within project budget and specification
II) Technical Engineer

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Job holder will be responsible for developing new products and process specifications while improving existing products.

Among Others, Key Responsibilities will be:-
  • Developing product and process specification
  • Developing critical production controls and managing product quality
  • Training production Staff on technical specifications
Key Deliverables
  • New Product Designs and development Production
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience
  • BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
  • Advanced organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Project Appraisal , implementation and Management skills
  • Expertise in Product process and packaging
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD will be an added advantage
  • A team player with excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a comparable roles in a manufacturing concern
  • Be Registered Engineers or eligible for registration
Key Deliverables
  • Timely implementation of capital projects
  • Delivery of projects at cost and specification
4) SAP Business Analyst

The main purpose of this role is to ensure optimum utilization of SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to support business objectives.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, key responsibilities will include:-
  • Carrying out reviews on SAP utilization and recommending customization based on business requirements
  • Recommending and ensuring compliance with business policies and procedures relating to SAP
  • Administering SAP installations, training users and resolution of system related issues
  • Reviewing and creating training and User manuals for various SAP modules
Key Deliverables
  • Optimization of SAP capabilities
  • User training and enhanced capacity building
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in ICT / Bcs. Computer Engineering or related field from a recognized Institution
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following SAP Modules FICO, MM, SD and PP for a minimum period of two years
  • Having participated in SAP implementation will be an added advantage
  • Good training and coaching skills
  • A team player with excellent communication, problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills
