- Deputizes for the Regional Director (RD)
- Supports the RD in the overall management of the region
- With the RD and the other Deputy RD, represents Plan externally in the region and internally within the organization.
- Oversees implementation of administrative policies and procedures
- Oversees security planning and management
- Oversees sponsorship planning and management and reviews achievement of targets
- Oversees review of agreements and contracts
- Oversees audit planning and follow-up
- Works closely with People & Culture (P&C) Partner to manage region-wide human resource needs in line with global and local people policies.
- Works closely with Regional Finance Manager to support efficient and effective financial management in the Regional Office
- Works closely with the Regional ICT Manager to ensure Plan offices have a functioning ICT infrastructure and support.
- Oversees the management of the regional risk register and risks in general.
- Works closely with the P&C partner to ensure that child protection policies are adopted and adhered to across the region.
- Manages the budget for regional office operations support.
- Oversees the management of the regional office budget.
- Oversees the operational support to countries.
- Oversees the Regional budget for Sponsorship support
- There is an expectation that the post holder will travel up to 50% of the time within and outside the region
About You
- Preferably degree level education. Masters’ Degree an added advantage.
- Extensive general management experience, preferably in an NGO and preferably at the director level
- Extensive operations support management experience in a development organization.
- A thorough understanding and experience with a wide range of donors.
- Strong communication and representational skills
- Fluent in English and high standards of French and/ or Spanish (depending on the region) is highly advantageous
- Sensitivity to working in a culturally diverse organization and region
- Experience of working with non-for-profit organizations in a developing country is required.
This post is expected to be based at Plan’s Regional offices in East and South Africa, Kenya.
