Executive Driver / Mechanic Job in Kenya - Kenya Episcopal Conference

Kenya Episcopal Conference-Catholic Secretariat wishes to recruit qualified persons for the following position.

Executive Driver / Mechanic

Duties 
  • Drive KEC vehicles carefully and defensively
  • Clean and maintain interior and exterior of vehicles regularly.
  • Check and replenish fuel, oil and lubricants on daily basis.
  • Communicate with supervisor regarding all trips.

  • Record vehicle usage in the log book on daily basis and get log book reviewed by supervisor on regular basis.
  • Make sure that vehicle has proper tools in case of roadside problem.
  • Ensure that road tax, insurance cover etc. are up to date and keep a certified copy of vehicle registration book at all times.
  • Demonstrate continual vigilance to the highest degree of driver’s courtesy for both other drivers, and pedestrians.
  • Exercise control over passengers and report to supervisor about any person not complying with proper procedure and KEC vehicle usage policy.
  • Follow KEC vehicle policy and procedures.
  • Ensure security of vehicles and possessions inside vehicles at all times.
  • Undertake local and outstation travel, as required.
  • Following inspection, road tax, TLB and insurance expiring date of the vehicle fleet and preparing report on the same
  • Assist in basic data computer input of office data
  • Support compiling documents by photocopying, scanning and binding scientific reports, questionnaires and other office documents;
  • Packing of documents for workshops, meetings
  • Supporting with filing and retrieval of theme correspondence and documents
  • General messengerial duties which include receiving, sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Record all vehicle related expenses in log book and put speed-meter reading on each and every expenditure bill at the time of making expenditure or putting fuel/gas.
  • Prepare monthly driver/vehicle report about total vehicle activity including total mileage driven, expenditure amounts and fuel consumption rate etc.
  • Hand over monthly vehicle report immediately to supervisor at the end of each month.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Is a holder of K.C.S.E with minimum C- grade
  • Is of not less than 32years of age
  • Holder of clean ,BCE Class, valid driving license
  • Minimum 5 years driving experience, including in the city
  • A good working knowledge of Nairobi and the Country is a must
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Knowledge in vehicle mechanics
  • Computer literacy is an advantage
