Emergency Plus Medical Services a 24HR ambulance rescue services provider, fully owned by Kenya Red Cross Society is looking for suitable candidates to fill the following positions:

Job Title:
Paramedics
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Various Towns

Main duties:
  • Provide and direct fast, efficient Advanced Life Support to the ill and injured utilizing all basic and advanced abilities and techniques
  • Recognize and understand a medical emergency and make reasonable and acceptable differential diagnosis
  • Understand and anticipate the pharmacological treatment of critically ill and injured patients

  • Understand and anticipate potentially life-threatening squeal of cardiac and non-cardiac emergencies and institute appropriate emergency therapy where essential for the preservation of life
  • Deal with medical and emotional needs of any victim of acute illness or injury with the goal of reducing mortality and morbidity;
  • Responsible for managing and directing all first responders at the scene of a medical emergency such as QRUs, Police Departments, and EMTs
  • Responsible for quality patient-care as established by the E-Plus
  • File standardized reports of patient information and care for the use of receiving hospital and administration, including nature of request for aid, pertinent past history, therapy provided diagnosis, disposition and sufficient patient information for billing purposes
  • Maintain effective communication with physician on duty at hospital to relate patient condition and obtain orders for treatment
  • Transport the ill and injured to institutions of medical care
  • Where a patient must be extricated from entrapment, assess the extent of injury and give all possible emergency care and protection to the entrapped patient and uses the prescribed techniques and appliances for safely removing the patient. 
  • If needed, radios the emergency operator or fire dispatcher for additional help or special rescue and/or utility services. 
  • Provides simple rescue service if the ambulance has not been accompanied by a specialized unit. 
  • After extrication, provides additional care in triaging the injured in accordance with START triage system as per E-Plus protocols.
  • Receive and receipt cash payments for ambulance recue services and handing over the same to finance
  • Maintain ambulance in efficient operating condition
  • Perform any other duty within the scope of this position
Minimum requirements:
  • Kenya Registered Community Nurse or Degree in Nursing or clinical medicine
  • Certificate in BLS, ACLS, ATLS
  • Additional qualification in ambulance operations is an added advantage
  • Minimum experience of two years as a nurse/ critical care nurse in ICU,HDU, Accident and Emergency
  • Minimum of five years experience as a driver with a clean driving record will be an added advantage
  • Honesty, integrity and commitment is highly valued
Job Title: Ambulance Operators
Reports To: Operations Manager
Location: Various Towns

Main duties:
  • Maintains ambulance in efficient operating condition
  • Respond to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured an transport patients to a medical facility
  • Ensure the ambulance is always equipped with the required materials
  • Receive and receipt cash payments for ambulance rescue services and handing over the same to finance
Minimum requirements:
  • E.M.T-1
  • Must have a certificate in B.L.S, A.C.L.S
  • Must have a minimum of five years experience as a driver with a clean driving record
  • Additional qualification in the medical industry is an added advantage
  • Minimum experience of two years as an ambulance operator
NOTE: Intensive training will be offered to successful candidates to ensure that they are within the set standards at E-Plus
