NRHS Head of Mobilization and Demand Creation Job in Kenya

Nyanza Reproductive Health Society (NRHS) is an organization based in Kisumu and promotes reproductive health and quality of life in Kenya.

We are currently rolling out a male circumcision program in various districts in Nyanza Province. We are seeking qualified and competent candidates to fill the position of Head of Mobilization and Demand Creation in the Male Circumcision Project.

Job Summary:

To provide leadership and management for creating demand and mobilising clients for voluntary medical male circumcision services (VMMC) in NRHS target districts. This person will be based in Kisumu, reporting to the Program Director but will have regular travel to other districts in and outside of Nyanza.

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing development, management and implementation of an evidence based mobilisation strategy for VMMC.
  • Use innovative methods of formative research and social marketing to ensure mobilisation and demand creation is appropriate to the target population.
  • Develop district specific mobilisation strategies and provide technical support to the District Mobilisation Coordinators.
  • Collaborate with PEPFAR funded social-marketing organisations to ensure a comprehensive approach to mobilisation and demand creation.
  • Determine the necessary IEC/ BCC messages required and coordinate with other national and provincial communications working groups to ensure messages and materials developed are relevant.
  • Participate in the provincial MC communications working group to ensure harmonized coordination of messages with other partners.
  • Provide technical assistance to the District Mobilisation Coordinators with planning and facilitation of training on VMMC using the key messages developed on VMMC.
  • Oversee training of district mobilization coordinators.
  • Ensure harmonization of messages in all districts by adapting community facilitation tools and enforcing their use.
  • Developing and tracking monthly/ quarterly/ annual activity budgets.
  • Manage a team of district mobilisation coordinators and any community Mobilizers and peer educators.
  • Compile monthly, quarterly, annual and other communication and mobilisation reports.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Master’s degree in relevant field
  • 5 or more years experience in implementing or overseeing community based communication programs
  • Proven record of excellent management, leadership, decision making and interpersonal skills
  • Diplomatic and an effective oral and written communicator
