Commissioner of Support Services Job Vacancy - Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)

Our client, Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), wishes to recruit a dynamic individual to fill the position of Commissioner of Support Services.

Reporting to the Commissioner General, this is a senior position and calls for a high level of maturity and ability to effectively interact at Board level. The role holder will act as a key advisor to the Commissioner General on major strategic and operational issues.

Commissioner of Support Services

The position will be responsible for the overall management of the Support Services function which covers among others legal, research, planning services, quality management and integrity programmes.

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Ensuring overall efficient management and administration of the department;
  • Formulating and reviewing departmental policies and strategies;
  • Providing leadership and fostering staff motivation, commitment and teamwork in the department;
  • Ensuring efficient and effective management of all resources in the department;
  • Interpreting and applying departmental policies and procedures;
  • Setting departmental operational targets and appraising performance;
  • Developing and implementing business process improvement and change management initiatives;
The successful candidate will have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Economics, Commerce or Law;
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognised university;
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years experience, at least five of which should be at senior management level in a large and reputable organisation managing diverse support functions;
  • Understanding of the Revenue Acts administered by KRA:
  • Strong leadership and management skills;
  • Excellent strategic, analytical, organisational and change management skills;
  • Sound IT application skills.
