Our client is an international provider of broadcast and customer care services currently seeking to fill the position of an
Information and Communication Technology Manager based in Nairobi.

Our rapidly growing client in Kenya requires the services of an dedicated and full-time Information and Communication Technology Manager.

Responsible for the management, installation, maintenance, availability and security of the network, hardware and software.

Working closely with the CEO and CTO or designated member of the senior management team and to take a lead in ICT specialist area., the ideal candidate will be charged with the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Evaluating user needs and system functionality and ensuring that ICT facilities meet these needs;
  • Planning, developing and implementing the ICT budget, obtaining competitive prices from suppliers, to ensure cost effectiveness;
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the organisation’s practices for data protection, internet use, e-mail, security and ICT resource management;
  • Ensuring the smooth running of all ICT systems, including anti-virus software, print services and email;
  • Ensuring that software licensing laws are adhered to;
  • Providing secure access to the network for remote users;
  • Ensuring the security of data from internal and external attack;
  • Providing users with appropriate support and advice;
  • Managing crisis situations, which may involve complex technical hardware or software problems;
  • Mentoring and training new ICT support staff;
  • Taking responsibility for regular maintenance schedules and resolving failures in hardware and software and ensuring appropriate “housekeeping” tasks are implemented; and
  • Producing audits and reports on ICT use and costs; demonstrating best value in provision of products and services.
Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position should have the following:
  • Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science;
  • Professional ICT qualifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), CCNA or other equivalent and recognised qualifications;
  • Proven experience in ICT troubleshooting and network administration;
  • Good insight and experience in ICT Security related issues;
  • Demonstrated understanding of centralised administration and monitoring of distributed ICT systems;
  • Excellent understanding of networking principles such as IP addressing and routing; and
  • Excellent understanding of communications/ IP telephony technologies such as VoIP, T1/E1
  • Ideally a minimum of 5 years relevant experience with 3 years in a leadership role.
