Finance Manager and Accountant Jobs in Kenya

Our client is a registered education charity delivering education services to a diverse range of clients worldwide. This Not-for-Profit Organisation wishes to recruit two professionals to provide financial management and accounting services to programmes managed by its African Regional Office and ensure that financial affairs are conducted in a professional manner.
Finance Manager
You will ensure that the organisation’s financial affairs meet legal, contractual and professional requirements, provide financial management and accounting services to programmes managed by Regional Office and advise Senior Management Team on financial issues.
Your contributions will include: preparation of management accounts including submission of project accounts in accordance with funding agency requirements; tax management; budget planning and cash management; risk management; client fund management; preparing business plans and proposals; and analysing contribution of new projects. You will also oversee financial reporting; liaise with auditors, clients and partners on financial issues
and reporting and ensuring payments are received; manage finance staff and review systems and processes to increase efficiency of the finance function.
Requirements: Full CPA; business degree holder at Bachelor’s level or higher; senior management experience of at least five (5) years. We will be looking for experience in financial management, solid knowledge of accounting procedures at both national and international levels, preferably in both commercial and aid-funded contexts, including familiarity with tax and audit laws and procedures.
Accountant
The Accountant (Management Reporting & Budgeting) will prepare monthly reporting packs and periodic budget submissions for a portfolio of projects ensuring the provision of timely and accurate management information to
the Regional Office and Head Office and of financial reports to clients as per contractual requirements.
He/she will report actual performance against the budget for the projects and investigate variances where applicable.
Key deliverables include assisting in the improvement of financial processes and procedures, assisting in preparation of audits and liaising with the accounting team to ensure correct balance sheet position.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and full professional qualification in CPA or ACCA. Thorough understanding of accounting concepts and financial procedures for development partners is preferred. Solid experience in reporting for new projects, budget preparation and management accounting for projects will be an advantage
