MSH would like to invite suitably qualified and experienced candidates to join its team based in Nairobi, Kenya on a project whose goal is to strengthen and expand public health laboratory systems and develop indigenous capacity in Kenya to support HIV prevention, treatment and care as part of the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS relief.
Laboratory Systems Strengthening Specialist

The Laboratory Systems Specialist will provide high-quality technical assistance to implement quality laboratory systems required to facilitate the diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria as part of the Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. He/she will participate in conducting assessments, training, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of laboratory and point-of-care diagnostic services and systems
Applicants will possess a minimum of a B.Sc. degree in Biomedical/Medical Laboratory Science with additional relevant professional qualification in medical microbiology, biomedical science or related pathology discipline.
Additional qualification in public health is desirable. Applicants should also be registered with the relevant, professional regulatory authority for practice (e.g. Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians’ and Technologists’ Board , KMA etc) and have a minimum of 10 years post qualification experience, five of which should have been at a senior level with responsibilities for managing clinical and public health laboratories in Kenya or any other East African Community country.
Program Administrative Coordinator
The Program Administrative Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the projects technical efforts and/or field activities by coordinating programmatic information, administrative activities, and operations as well as providing logistical support for specific project activities within the Country Operations platform
He/She is aware of and adheres to, MSH’s, CDC’s and overall USGs procurement and administrative procedures in all activities, Additionally, s/he is knowledgeable about the Technical Program Result Areas, work plan implementation, and expected technical reporting structures. Applicant’s previous experience and interaction will senior project/program officers and diverse project teams.
Applicants will possess at least a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Administration, with demonstrated knowledge of office management and program coordination. Candidates will have at least five years experience in supporting technical staff engaged in both central and field work activities especially on donor-funded projects.
Both positions require candidates with personal initiative and high integrity. Relocation and post allowances are not available for either of these positions.
