Jhpiego Technical Advisor - HIV Care and Treatment Vacancy

Jhpiego, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University, is an .international NGO supporting health programs to improve the health of women and their families.

Jhpiego-Kenya works in close collaboration with both the Ministry of Medical Services and the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation in the areas of HIV, Malaria, TB, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, Reproductive Health and Family Planning.

Jhpiego, in collaboration with US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Catholic Relief Services (CRS), is implementing the Support and Assistance to Indigenous Implementing Agencies (SAIDIA) project which seeks to improve the capacity of faith based organizations to implement HIV prevention, care, treatment and community support services.

Jhpiego is currently recruiting an experienced medical professional with excellent technical skills who is a team player, dedicated, hard working, innovative and highly motivated to join the SAIDIA project.

Technical Advisor - HIV Care and Treatment

The Technical Advisor will provide technical leadership and program oversight in the quality implementation of Jhpiego-led activities for the SAIDIA project.
Responsibilities
  • Provide overall technical leadership and guidance for implementation of the HIV care and treatment, HIV testing and counseling, and TB/HIV collaborative activities
  • Provide technical guidance to enhance linkages between care at health facilities and communities
  • In collaboration with financial staff, prepare and track the progress of project and activity budgets
  • Represent Jhpiego in SAIDIA technical committee meetings and other related meetings, including those with other partners
  • Compile and analyze data for performance monitoring and evaluation of the project and utilize data for corrective actions
  • Participate in trainings, meetings and workshops that support SAIDIA activities in Kenya
  • Contribute to the preparation of project's work plans, budgets, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the implementation team and stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Medical Doctor with training in HIV prevention, care and treatment
  • At least 5 years of experience in management of HIV/AIDs & TB programs
  • Excellent analytical, communication and report writing skills
  • Experience working with donor funded programs, MOH systems and personnel
  • Experience working with faith based organizations
  • Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS word, Excel and PowerPoint
